Return and Refund Policy

1. Overview

This Return and Refund Policy (“Policy”) applies to subscription payments made by Tutors and Educational Institutes (“Subscribers”) for the EdTech Global platform services. This Policy outlines the terms governing refunds, cancellations, and service credits.

EdTech Global is a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) platform that provides online tutoring and educational management tools. As a digital service, no physical goods are involved, and this policy pertains exclusively to subscription fees for platform access.

2. Free Starter Plan

2.1 Free Plan Access

All new Subscribers are entitled to the free Starter plan, which includes up to 30 students, 5 GB storage, and access to all core platform features. The free Starter plan is available indefinitely with no time limit.

2.2 Starter Plan Features

The free Starter plan includes:

  • Create and manage up to 3 classes
  • Add up to 30 students and 1 staff account
  • Connect Zoom and YouTube integrations
  • Payment collection
  • Evaluate the platform without any financial commitment

2.3 Upgrading from Free Plan

Subscribers can upgrade to a paid plan at any time to access additional students, storage, and advanced features. Upon upgrading, the Subscriber will be charged for their selected plan's billing cycle. No credit card is required to use the free Starter plan.

3. Billing Terms

3.1 Billing Cycle

  • Subscription fees are billed on a monthly basis for paid plans
  • The billing cycle begins on the date of plan upgrade or paid plan subscription
  • Payments are charged at the beginning of each billing cycle
  • Subsequent billing dates will fall on the same date each month

3.2 Payment Method

Payments are processed through PayHere, a secure payment gateway. Subscribers can pay using credit cards, debit cards, or other payment methods supported by PayHere. By subscribing, you authorize us to charge your selected payment method on a recurring monthly basis.

4. Refund Policy

4.1 No Refunds After Payment

All subscription payments are non-refundable once processed. As we provide a free Starter plan with access to all core features, Subscribers have ample opportunity to evaluate the platform before upgrading to a paid plan. We encourage all users to thoroughly test the platform on the free plan to ensure it meets their needs.

4.2 Rationale

Our no-refund policy is based on the following:

  • The free Starter plan provides access to evaluate all core features with no time limit
  • As a digital service, there is no physical product to return
  • Infrastructure and resources are allocated upon subscription
  • Subscribers retain full access until the end of their paid billing period

5. Cancellation

5.1 How to Cancel

Subscribers can cancel their subscription at any time by:

  • Accessing the subscription settings in the Tutor/Admin portal
  • Contacting our support team at support@edtechglobal.io
  • Submitting a cancellation request through our help center

5.2 Effect of Cancellation

Upon cancellation:

  • No refund will be provided for the current billing period
  • You will retain full access to the platform until the end of your current billing period
  • Automatic billing will be stopped for future cycles
  • Your data will be retained for 30 days after the subscription ends
  • You can reactivate your subscription at any time during the data retention period

5.3 Downgrading to Free Plan

You can downgrade to the free Starter plan at any time. No further payments will be charged, and you will retain access to Starter plan features. If you are on a paid plan, the downgrade takes effect at the end of your current billing period.

6. Plan Changes

6.1 Upgrades

Plan upgrades take effect immediately. The price difference will be pro-rated for the remainder of the current billing cycle, and subsequent billing will reflect the new plan pricing.

6.2 Downgrades

Plan downgrades take effect at the beginning of the next billing cycle. You will retain access to your current plan's features until the end of the current billing period. No refunds or credits are provided for the price difference during the current cycle.

7. Payment Failures

7.1 Grace Period

If a payment fails on the billing date, we will attempt to process the payment again. Subscribers have a 14-day grace period from the billing date to resolve payment issues. During this grace period, full platform access is maintained.

7.2 Access Suspension

If payment is not received within 14 days of the billing date, platform access will be suspended. During suspension, Subscribers cannot access the platform, but all data (students, classes, courses, recordings) will be retained.

7.3 Account Deletion

If payment remains outstanding for 45 days from the original billing date, the account and all associated data will be permanently deleted. This action is irreversible. We will send reminder notifications before deletion occurs.

8. Service Credits

8.1 Service Level Commitment

EdTech Global strives to maintain high platform availability. In the event of significant service disruptions, we offer service credits as compensation.

8.2 Service Credit Eligibility

If the platform experiences downtime exceeding 24 consecutive hours due to issues within our control (excluding scheduled maintenance), affected Subscribers are entitled to one (1) month of free service credited to their account.

8.3 Exclusions

Service credits do not apply to downtime caused by:

  • Scheduled maintenance (announced in advance)
  • Third-party service outages (Zoom, YouTube, payment gateways)
  • Force majeure events (natural disasters, war, etc.)
  • Issues caused by the Subscriber's own systems or network
  • Beta features or experimental services

8.4 Claiming Service Credits

To claim a service credit, contact our support team within 30 days of the service disruption. Credits are applied to the next billing cycle and cannot be exchanged for cash or transferred.

9. Exceptions

EdTech Global reserves the right to issue refunds or credits at its sole discretion in the following exceptional circumstances:

  • Duplicate charges due to technical errors
  • Charges processed after a valid cancellation request
  • Significant service failures not covered by the service credit policy
  • Other circumstances deemed appropriate by EdTech Global management

Any exceptions to this policy are made on a case-by-case basis and do not constitute a waiver of our standard refund policy.

10. Disputes and Chargebacks

If you believe you have been charged in error, please contact us at billing@edtechglobal.io before initiating a chargeback with your payment provider. We are committed to resolving billing disputes promptly and fairly.

Initiating a chargeback without first contacting us may result in immediate suspension of your account. If a chargeback is found to be unwarranted, we reserve the right to recover the disputed amount plus any associated fees.

12. Changes to This Policy

EdTech Global reserves the right to modify this Return and Refund Policy at any time. Changes will be posted on our website with an updated “Last Updated” date. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy. Material changes affecting existing subscriptions will be communicated via email at least 30 days in advance.
